Monkey's Close-Up

Monkeys are very abundant in the small city of Lopburi, Thailand. The monkeys generally co-exist peacefully with their human neighbors but they are wild, not tame.
When I took this close-up photo of a young monkey I didn't notice that it has a nose ring until I looked at my camera'a LCD screen. I can only guess that this little fellow was someone's pet at one time although why they would give it a nose ring is a mystery to me.
